Title: kahtoola Micro Spikes
Post by: icebucketjohn on January 15, 2017, 07:32:10 AM
Finally decided to get a pair for this season.  Sofar, they've done there job very very nicely.  A little pricey at $69, but it's certainly cheaper than breaking bones or a trip to the hospital.

BTW, only place I'm aware that has them in stock is Appalachian Outfitters in Peninsula.

How hard are they to put on and take off?

Not really, I just put the front over my boots an pull them on like a slip-on shoe. Pretty straight forward to be honest....

My experience with Kahtoola spikes was limited to one year. They worked great for that one year. I left them installed on my size 12 Mickey Mouse boots.

While prepping for last years ice season. I noticed the straps had completely rotted. Basically came apart in my hand. To the company's credit when I informed them . They immediately shipped a replacement pair free of charge.

I sold that pair and went with installing snowmobile track studs in bottom of my Mickey's. Due to brief usage with the studs last year. I can't comment on them just yet.
