Title: Grand Lake Skim Ice 12-8-2018
Post by: toadfish on December 08, 2018, 01:27:51 PM
The lake has about 1/8" of ice over most of what I can see.  Too bad warm weather is in the forecast.  I still have some work on the new Eskimo Evo 1T shanty for wiring lights, adding rod holders and mounting some storage boxes.

Checked 4 channels on the north side and all between 1.5 and 2 inches. Hope this coming weeks weather doesn't tear it up.

Open lake had 2" on 12-10-2018.  I stood on it where my ankle may have gotten wet if I would have broken through.  My ankles stayed dry!  After the warm-up and rain, I might drag out the short rods. Everything else is ready except wiring the Eskimo Evo 1IT shanty and lining some reels.  New battery for the Vex is charged and ready, auger blades sharp and ready, hooks sharp and ready to feed some fish.  I don't want to have everything ready to go or I may just jinx the whole season.

Off work today so I may try to venture out on some channels for some bucket fishing.
