Title: 1/22/19
Post by: g on January 22, 2019, 07:27:52 PM
Finally walked on water today on a farm pond. Cloudy colored ice that was 4 1/2 inches thick. Caught 5 keeper gills over 8 inches and around the same number of throwbacks. Fished in 10 feet of water and used a moon jig tipped with a waxie. Jigged 2 feet off the bottom and most came from the bottom. Fished maybe 1 1/2 hrs. Slow bite but was glad to get out at least once this season. Have to wait to see what the rain will do to the ice.

Nice job grant. Glad you got out. Same pond we fished last year?

It was a different pond Aaron. This pond was near Jamestown. It is in Greene county tdenn568. A buddy of mine has permission to fish it and we usually catch some nice gills and a few big crappies on occasion. When we get good ice again, we will have to go back to the pond we fished Aaron.
