Hey guys. It surely looks like there is not going to have any ice this year. This warm weather has the season messed up Go north to MI ;)

Good reply Evinrude58!! So lets take a look at the Indian Lake area forecast. If correct (although it has not been all season), starting Jan 24 -Feb 5 the avg H=28.9 L=12.6. May the ICE GODS be kind to us!!NEVER give up!!!!

January is a lost month, but the local news said for February the average high will be 29.2 and the low will be 12.9. Hope that’s accurate, because we’ll get some good ice with that!

I haven't completely given up hope but it's not looking good. Unless we get a major pattern shift in the next couple weeks we are pretty much screwed. I have zero faith in the 7 day forecasts, much less the long term. The weather is so screwed up the last few years I don't think anyone has an idea what it's gonna do. And our last ice in the Indian lake area is usually right around valentines day. The days just start getting too long and the sun angle starts increasing after that. If we don't have a really good base by then it's not happening. So fingers crossed for some local ice but I'm not gonna sit around and wait for it. Heading north on the 17th. Hopefully I'll come back to winter...

there will be ICE,but when,and for how long is the million dollar question,the way it looks now it will be February,this short ice fishing seems to be a reaccuring pattern the last few years,the last great season was 2014...………………………... :-\ :-\ :-\

Just being truthful. No ice in the future. Let’s wait till next year. Ice season is like the Browns. IFFY !!!

Hope you are right , Slab! Looking at the forecast for Indian Lake area, 16 Jan. - 6 Feb Avg. H =31.3 Avg. L=16.9 Here again, this is long range. No faith! BUT we have a chance!!Keep our chins up!!!

shoot my drill is still down needing fuel lines, i was hoping if i didnt fix it right away it would freeze up...hahahah guess i was dreaming. sure a screwy year. guess ill go magnet fishing hahahahha

Weather forecast for Indian Lake area- From Jan 25-Feb 21 H=35.5 deg. L=23.2 deg. BUT from Feb 11 - Feb 21 ( 11days ) H= 34.3 deg. L= 17.7 deg. MAYBE !!!

Been going to Indian drilling docks. It's not the ice experience we desire but I am.catching a few fish and still getting out .. mabey it will cure some boredom!! A pity it's an inch shy of fishing I weigh 150lbs smaller guy I stood on blackhawk channel yesterday just stupid sketchy!

My "brand new" shanty has gone through 2 seasons without being on the ice. It was frozen inside my shed last season and only a couple of days of good ice this season when i could not get out. Maybe next year will be better. I am giving up on this season. >:( :'(

well now , it looks like were missing some ice, as i sit here looking outside while it snows like mad i just look back and think of all the holes i punched . really been a sad season. this late in good ice around here is in my freezer hahahaha oh well maybe an early spring and i can get my boat out early

I know. It’s sucks. Anything we get from this cold snap will be gone by the end of next week. Pathetic season!

Granted, this season seems to be over. It's a bitch,sucks and depressing! Might as well start doing my income taxes then really get pissed off!! But I'm curious how close we came for good ice. From Feb.5 - Feb 14 the temps were H=30.8 L=22.5 AVG = 26.7 at Indian Lake. If anyone will be around Indian this weekend, I'd enjoy an ice report! Thanks!!!

I'm getting in the truck in an hour to see if longpond has froze I weigh 145lbs if it's got 2.5" on it I'm going just to go

We might get a few day’s. Long term not great this week, but better than before. Some early season spots might be froze up!

I'm up in Michigan on 6-10 inches right now. Fishing isn't great but we're getting some nice perch. Hope to do better today when it's not blowing 35 mph. Get up here boys...

I am probably one of the most positive ones on here about us getting good ice, but today I put both my shanties back in the barn loft. Rods and such are still in the garage just incase but am moving the boat back to the drive tomorrow. I only got out 7 times this year but sounds like I did better than most.

Yes Evinrude 58, I think 7 times this year were better than most! Unfortunately, I did not make it at all. I only fish Indian Lake . Convenience, time and ice conditions played a toll on me. Let's hope next year will be better!!

Same here. I didn’t get out either. Killed me. The window we had I was sick with flu. Then we lost the base and I won’t go out on 2” anymore. I have all the safety gear, but all the early spots by me only have dink gills at 2” of ice. We need a good 3-4” for me to get to my good spots. I’m not into risking my life or gear for a 3” fish anymore. Getting too old for that. I am super disappointed though. This is the first year I’ve missed in a long long time.

Yah I never got out once in Ohio. I'm in about the same boat as you Joel. Need some decent ice to get to my good spots and at 250 lbs I am not going out on 2 1/2 inches. If my butt hole is puckered up the whole time it really isn't that much fun. Lol. Did make a couple Michigan trips but really love fishing Indian and it's disappointing not getting on there. Did get the boat out yesterday! Got 27 keeper crappie using ice gear. :D

wow no ice this year almost crazy town..... so yesterday i hit the chagrin and hooked a couple steelies, a 5 lb male and a 4 lb female. scratched my itch for a bit. i would have posted pics but its a pain....

yeah this year was a real bust. i have cabin fever really bad. now im waiting to hit erie, look for mushrooms, get outside, just not in the house....aawwwww

Got an eighth trip in, but put all gear away today. Season is done I think.

I guess that I was lucky to get out 3 days in December on my pond. I thought it was just the beginning of a great season! Maybe next year................
