Thanks slab.. since season will be short this year with rain and warm temps on the way, I don't think it would do me much-needed good.

I threw in the towel for the season.  Shanty is stored away until next year (hopefully).  My trip to devils lake north dakota will be my last outing for this season.  I guess it was good a good season while it lasted.

My first day and last day if icefishing this season were back to back.  The next 10 days forecast will not get us back out on the ice.  If it wasn't for my devil's lake trip to North dakota, I would put all my gear away now. :'(

Grand Lake opened back up today.  Mild temps and rain did a number on the ice we had.

Snobear is $1K per day up to 4 people.  Amtrak tickets are about $300 round trip.  Hotel $75 per night.

Indian was good to me before the warm up.  There WAS about 6-7" of ice
at blackhawk.  Perch hit pimple tipped with minnow head like the saugeye.  They tasted great.  3 saugeye 16-18" hit before first light and after dark.  I won't  go back on it for a while.

There is about 4.5-5" out in front of my house.  Nice clear, hard ice for the ti.e being.  Not liking the forecast of 9 days in a row with nighttime low temps above freezing and daytime highs in the high 50's.  Planning on hitting Indian  on Monday before the thaw begins.  Merry Christmas all and be safe if you venture out.

Forecast does not look good at the end of the month, warm and rain.  Those conditions will eat up any ice we get pretty quick. >:(
