I completely agree that this site has a family feel to it. When I first started to try and learn about ice fishing this is where I came. At that time there was an effort being put together to submerge fish habitat's at CJ Brown which is ten minutes from where I live. I kind of just read what was being posted and became familiar with the tone of the regulars. Once the ice season started I felt comfortable asking newbie questions and was always treated kindly.

What I like here is the old school feel it has. For me that is it's best attribute.

I think FB is killing most sites like this. Honestly from what I see the information shared far outweighs what is posted here. Typically there are around 10 members here that post back and forth but it's more of a I'm going to be here kind of thing. On FB there are hundreds of people showing images of ice conditions, tackle, results and what not on a daily basis. I think perhaps it's because that site is more user friendly so to speak from a social media stand point.

It's taking a hit but 10 inches of ice is a lot of ice. The snow that's coming is what I don't like. What doesn't melt will be covered and insulated. The following cold snap hopefully will help with that. Time will tell.

Bruce I scheduled tomorrow off and plan to chase Crappie around the lake. With the weather being warmer, it's no pop up shanty for me. I'm going to have my sled and a bucket to sit on and on the move. I will be in the Marina early and will stick around until I see you. What time will you be around?

Panman and myself are going out of catawba Wednesday and Thursday...walking. Anyone else interested let me know.

Eric you probably should hold off until Thursday at least. The wind is supposed to be nasty. Wish I could make this run with you but shutdown at work always puts me behind a bit. I'll catch you on the next trip and try to beat the circus up there.

Guys there is 4 inches and better at Mosquito. There on it now and posting videos on FB.

Do you mind sharing which FB group?  I'm planning on going this weekend and just kind of following the crowds.  I would imagine any area with quick depth changes would be okay.  I was looking on the Navionics page earlier...

It's called Ice Ohio.

Nate I can mail you a check so that you can use it towards the visa. That way you have the money. I can get the hoodie whenever.

Nate the 1XL is what ordered. I came to a dock tourney to buy it but you left at 11:00 and I got there in the afternoon so I missed you.

I still would like the hoodie. If there is going to be a dock tourney this weekend are you going to that one? I have to work Saturday morning but could head that way once I get off.

Guys I have talked to just about everyone and this is what I came up with. Indian has OK ice at long island but mostly dinks are being caught. Mound wood is a no go.

As bad as I want to hear an auger turn I'm going to pass on Indian. I haven't been to a tournament yet due to work and tomorrow I am free.

See you at the tournament.

That's the way to start the morning right there. Bring on the ice.

Everyone at work is complaining about the cold. They simply don't understand why my mood has been on the up swing. Bring on the Polar air.

Hello Nate, I still need mine XL. I stopped by the dock tournament the week before last but I think you had to leave early. I won't be able to make the one coming up this weekend but should be good to go the following week.

Thanks Nate

Alum Creek Dock Tournaments / Re: Afternoon get together?.... Pt. 2

It would be nice if some tournaments happened up here in the NE,  I wonder how many would make the drive like the group of us do to the tournaments down there! Hmmm I wonder!

I would love to head North and try something new. My biggest stumbling block is the early Saturday time frame. More often than not I get stuck working through the mornings on Saturday. Late afternoon early evenings are better for me typically.
