Buckeye lake / Re: Iso ice report
« on: January 29, 2019, 02:30:28 PM »
Take it for what its worth. I have not personally been on the ice yet. I was there Saturday morning killing time while my daughter was at ball practice. Watched  a dozen or more out toward the marsh with more people heading out of FF beach. Also seen a half dozen or so out in front of the beach channel. Stopped into Z's bait shop and was told anywhere from 4-6 inches. I would think it has added a little more since Saturday morning, but as always spud your way out. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info, we ended up going out of FF beach amognst the tip uppers, caught a handful of eyes but only one keeper.

I've been really sad that I'm missing the tourneys, I work nights now, so getting up that early is difficult and I'm working during the night tourneys :( hopefully I'll get a chance to come see everyone soon! Tight lines!

@G, sad to hear you only got a few trips in. I went all over the place with my buddies, I was rather pleased with last season compared to the season prior. Here's to hoping this season is better for you!

Just want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving, be safe on the roads, I can think of something I'd rather be doing than stuffing my face with turkey on my couch but I can wait (inpatiently lol). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

It really depends on where you go fellas, I was an hour north of Findlay over the weekend, at a spot called Wauseon. There was 12" of ice, caught my pb perch too! (11.5"). Today I was on Ashley up ground and depending on the spot, the ice was sketchy 1' to 2' off the bank but past that the ice was 4.5" to 5.5". Hopefully the coldsnap comes quicker and lasts longer than forecasted and starts rebuilding the thin stuff

Glad to be of help snowcone! I've been tracking the 15 day forecast, the first week of February is supposed to be below freezing the entire week. Hopefully the ice won't need much time to heal and we can all get back out there and put more fish on the ice!

Delaware Reservoir / bad ice
« on: January 23, 2018, 03:26:17 PM »
Went out just to see how bad this weather has made the ice, lots of open water from the banks reaching as far out as 20' in some spots.  :'(
??? Not sure if the ice past the water is safe as I could not get to it regardless of where I went. Started south near the main basin across from the beach and worked my way north to Indian run just north of the horseshoe rd boat ramp.
The weather forecast for the following 15 days looks pretty grim for the remaining ice but February is right around the corner and hopefully it will bring plenty of icy low temps. Until then stay warm, stay safe and as always... Tight lines!

Delaware Reservoir / Re: Anyone been out?
« on: January 12, 2018, 09:30:41 AM »
Hey guys, went out yesterday. Lake has about 4' of standing water around the banks and its pretty thin, I'm recommending you wait until this warm weather blows over, we have more temps in the teens on the way this weekend. Saturday or Sunday might be cold enough to refreeze the ice around the banks but just be sure to spud your way out and use PFDs

Delaware Reservoir / Welcome to the 2017-18 ice season
« on: December 29, 2017, 03:56:40 PM »
Ok everyone the lake where I checked is good to go. Not sure if it's completely locked because I didn't check the entire lake but I started spudding at the horseshoe rd boat ramp (technically Sherwood rd) and saw a small group of guys fishing the northeast cove (Indian run, my access) which was going to be another checkpoint for me, a good 4" of ice in the coves and a few fish on the ice. Access to Indian run and the horseshoe Sherwood boat ramp is open. Remember to always use proper safety equipment and have fun! Tight lines!

Delaware Reservoir / 2017-18 another season is coming
« on: December 27, 2017, 08:27:50 AM »
Hey everyone! Another year is nearly over but the ice season is about to begin!  I havent been on much until today and im sorry for that, so to make up for it, in a day or two I'll begin checking ice on the lake once I know its thick enough to spud a path and start checking.
Stay tuned for further details! Tight lines!
