Leesville / Ice conditions and fish reports
« on: February 10, 2011, 09:54:33 AM »
Ice is as good as it has been in years, 12+ inches. The saugeyes are slow everywhere this year but some really nice fish have been caught, 6+ lbers. Muskies seem to always show up every once in a while, biggest I heard of was a 43 incher.
Crappies and gills can be picked up around submerged brush with an occasional perch bonus.

Piedmont / Ice Conditions
« on: February 10, 2011, 09:49:47 AM »
The ice is very good, some of the best we have had in years. In some places 12 to 14 inches. Be careful and make sure to wear cleat. Very slick in spot because of thaw and refreeze. The saugeyes have been slow but catchable. I figure they will turn on soon as it warms alittle.  crappie and bluegills can be caught around submerged brush.

Clendening Lake / ice conditions

Most of the lake has very good ice up to 14 inches in some areas. Very slick due to the thaw and refreezing so make sure to wear cleats.

Welcome to IceFishOhio / Hello Everyone
« on: January 09, 2011, 02:37:53 PM »
Hello, Tim (bttmline) Rickey. I have just recently join this site and wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am the founder and director of the www.EasternBuckeyeCrappieClub.com and also a moderator on www.crappie.com. I don't get to icefish as much as I use to be but still very involved with all the aspects. I look forward to helping others enjoy the sport of icefishing and promote ice safety over all.

General Discussion / ICE CONDITION
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:59:05 AM »
HEY FOLKS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS POST. WITH THE WARM UP THERE WITH BE HIDDEN AND OBVIOUS DANGERS. WITH THE MELTING YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE ICE CLEARLY. IF ON THE ICE WHERE YOU KNOW THE THICKNESS IS 5 INCHES OR MORE BUT YOU SEE SNOWY OR UNCLEAR ICE, STAY CLEAR. REMEMBER THERE IS NO SAFE ICE. BE CAREFULL. USE YOUR SENSES AND COMMON SENSE. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF OR OTHERS IN DANGER AND NEVER ICE FISH ALONE. THERE WILL BE MORE ICE SO JUST HANG AROUND AND ENJOY THESE FEW WARM DAYS. IF YOUR LAKE HAS A DRAWDOWN THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO LOOK FOR SPRING STRUCTURE.

Clendening Lake / Ice Condition
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:48:35 AM »
I haven't been to Clendening but was at Peidmont yesterday. PLEASE BE CAREFULL. An angler stnding on 5 inches of clear ice stepped back on what looked like snow cover and went through up to his waist. With the warm conditions all the ice is visible. If it is not clear do not step on it.
