Does anyone use a kdrill? I ordered a 8” and the adapter for my clam plate. They have reconditioned ones that are $60 cheaper than the new ones. I’ve had good luck with other reconditioned items I’ve bought so it seemed like a good choice.

General Discussion / East Harbor

Made a trip to East Harbor hoping for ice. Fished on 5” of ice but only caught dink gills. It was the seventh trip in the Wilcraft and I learn more each trip. Today I learned that I need studs in my front tires. If I tried to go to fast it was a little hard to control. Ice was really smooth and slick. I talked to a watercraft officer before I launched and was checked by park officers on the ice.

Indian Lake / Today
« on: March 02, 2019, 07:20:36 PM »
Heard there was still ice at Indian so I made the trip. Went out at the first pull off at Long Island. There was two guys out when I got there. Drove off and went out past them and popped three holes but didn’t get anything. Made a move out a little farther and popped four holes. Caught two gills biggest being 7.5”. Decided to leave because the ice was bowing down. Ice was 2-3” of white ice. Gotta put the studs back in the tires because it’s slippery.

Indian Lake / Rainy Saturday
« on: February 24, 2019, 09:37:31 PM »
After I made my junk run Saturday morning I drove by Indian to check conditions. I saw one guy out at paradise, he used a plank to get on the ice. I heard there people on the ice at Long Island so I headed home to get the Wilcraft. North fork side was all open but other side had ice. Parked at the first pull off and drove right out on the ice. Ice was four inches of white ice. Ice was getting soft but I felt comfortable in the machine. Fished a couple different spots with no luck. I pulled around the west corner of trash island and popped three holes. Gills started biting before I could get a second line in. I had two keepers 7-8 inches before I got the second line in. Had to sort through the small ones. I quit when the rain got worse. Best Gill was 9 1/4 today when I cleaned them. Hopefully I can get out again but probably won’t be in Ohio.

Indian Lake / North Fork

I fished north fork with Grant (G) and Andy (Downthehole). We didn’t catch anything but marked some fish. I still had a blast being the taxi for them. The Wilcraft performed like charm, it sure beats walking.

Out Of State Ice Fishing Trips / Houghton Lake 1/12 Michigan
« on: January 13, 2019, 06:57:50 PM »
I went up Friday and fished with Steve Yager who does the Facebook page for that area. Fished a area that hasn’t had any pressure from anglers. Fished from 8-5:30 marked fish and saw them on the camera. Saw bass and crappie but weren’t interested in anything that we were using. Steve also owns a Wilcraft and saw some good ideas for mine. There weren’t many reports of fish being caught Saturday. The next two weekends they are having their Tip up town party so fishing would probably be tough. But if you’re looking for a party you would probably be happy. There will be a lot of snowmobiles everywhere. Ice was 10” where we fished. The Wilcraft was a blast out there. Went by two people that were walking and they gave us a look like really. We weren’t close to them but I think they didn’t like walking then.

General Discussion / Here we go

I booked the hotel room today and will be leaving in the morning for Houghton lake in Michigan. I’m meeting a guy that lives there and has given me some places to hit. We are going out together Saturday morning. He has the only Wilcraft in the area and is liking the idea of two of them together on the ice.
