For saugeye work the beach area..the key here is shallow.. sand. 7fow can be good. Especially this time of year. Jiggin raps and pimples minnows or half minnows. Morning and evening. Drill a few holes as u will scatter them sit tight and be confident they will show up. My dad has got a few at the lodge point on vibee s and cicadas.

Thanks everyone..it was a catch of a lifetime. Evrything has to be perfect for those sumo perch. The perch are spawning here. 99% of the fish we are catching right now are small males.. their milting a lot more then last week and no females to be found. Isolated areas in water in 9 to 12 fow is stirred up my guess is their doing their thing.

They are on the move daily staying on the moving school is the hardest part. Keep mobile right now

Got out today with my dad had to break ice to launch the boat, We started heading up south fork to find warmer water and baitfish, I found a school of shad that was prolly 50 yrds long by about 15 yrds wide and around 6ft thick, I lowered the aquaview to take a look at em, they all seemed to be around 4 inchs, They were in 29fow, So we started jiggn, My dad hooked up with one on a Vibee it was right at 22 inchs and weight 3.47 at the time it was pulled out of the water, at the truck it weighed 3.35, I ended up going to 2 for 3 the other shook loose around 8ft below the boat.. one being 21 3.35lb. and the other 17.5 1.98lb and it was a male the bigger one had 6 shad in her belly, one was pretty close to being fresh the other were almost gone, All fish came between 29 and 26 fow under a giant school of shad, 3/8s vibees Lake had some ice in bays and some on mainlake but was blowing around, made it hard to spud a path to launch the boat.

They are the best thing besides a cover u can get for your vex.. I've had one now for several yrs and not only does it magnify everything it also protects snow and debri etc from getting inside which can be a pain in the but to clean.. get one its the best investment u can make beside a weatherproof cover for ur vex. These work with the fl8 pro that I have not sure how they work with other flat screen models like the 20s and 22s. But ull be very happy.. mine is getting scratched up just from normal wear. And ill be investing in a new one shortly.

Leesville / Leesville Ice report 1/19/12

Open water in very large areas at the dam and at the clouds marina, Public boat launch was locked in but only had about an inch of ice i launched my boat and broke ice to get out to Jig, fished for about 3 hrs with only lifting 2 fish.. The front really shut em down in my opinion. Ice will not be ready here for a lil while.

Ice was very thin and clear as of 1/19/12. broke through a few different time and measured the chunks i removed which were about an Inch.. Also.. AT the local spot "Yacht Club or Pine Tree point" that everyone usually fishes at.. There is a chain on both entrances prohibiting anyone from parking in the parking lot. there is stakes in the ground with pink ribbons it looks like their either making a new parking lot or getting ready to build something? I'm assuming spring time. But this is gonna be huge for us ice fisherman as this is the only access that i know of on the lake for this area. There isnt even a pull off area or could u even park along the side street because it is only a one lane access rd to begin with.. I'm hoping someone has more information on this. I dont know what else to do but to call the Muskingum Watershed to ask questions or maybe even the County Sherriff to see who, when, where and what is going on...Lake is locked up except for 2 spots at the dam by the boat launch area.

ya no prob joel. ive got quite a few gps marks and some under water structures ive located with my aquaview on that lake... now is the time to find it.. that lake is sooo crystal clear i can see prolly 20 ft out with my camera. that tree  is a hoooney hole for sure 3 of us pounded big crappies and eeh 1 to many 5 keeper gills off the tree. its a sweet spot for sure. id like to get out there tomorrow on a boat. my ole man might go down tomorrow to check the lake out. so hopin to have a report on lake conditions soon.. and if i can launch maybe even a fishin report. im thinkin its prolly locked up around the edges id imagine.

joel i got a lot of different colors, a few different blues, few greens, yellows, and a couple pinks, couple golds, silvers, high gloss, translucents, etc. there is a very extensive list of colors and types. take a look at it, the 2oz bottles work just fine although i id order some bigger sizes on some things i know i would use. having trouble finding a hott pink that i want... colombiacoatings.com  pretty decent collection and at half the price of a tackle store that would sell the powder paints. im really considering some new colors and designs.. i would like to find a guy who does photo finishes.. i can see that being a very very deadly on walleye. as most of the walleye im getting im not ripping but simply doing a "flyby" approach...actually fishing and finessing a vibee rather than rippin or jerkin or jukin as some do. its unreal. We'll have to get out this yr. and ill show ya a few of the techniques i use. they produce very well.. somethin else to add to your arsenal when your out fishing with them. i lost your number. pm me and ill get your number from ya
