Mosquito Creek Reservoir / Fall Fishing Crappie

Went to Mosquito Lake over the weekend and caught some nice crappie on the east shore across from the marina and down by the dam in about 14 ftw.  Looked for the break in the weeds and points that dropped off to about 20 feet.
Included a picture of a nice walleye I caught there last winter through the ice.

Its all done after today and tomorrows weather.  I think its time to pack it all up and call it a year.

For waxworms I keep them cool around 40-50 degrees with good air flow.  Shake them around daily and cull out the dead ones.  They will last a long time.  Maggots are trickier but in the fridge mid 30 degrees.  Those you have to stay on top of and make sure to get those dead ones out immediately.

I actually saw the guy who had the 5lb eye on at the bait shop.  He lost the darn thing at the hole for he couldn't get it through the 6" hole he had drilled.

I can do the Nimmy but not the Mosquito for my son has his Ohio State wrestling Youth tournament that weekend.

Couple of guys went out early this morning and tried it today.  They did not catch any fish nor anyone around them.

We fished the far southeast side just north of the dam today.  Ton of rinky dink perch but zero walleye.  Heard the buoy line is good but a half mile walk out.

I happened to be by there today on my work travels so checked it out.  Guys I talked to had zero fish and not happy as I chatted with them off the middle pier.

Went off c5 and c4.  C4 heated up as the afternoon went on.  Some nice fish in there.

Ice is about 4" thick now.  Heard they recently released 1500 lbs. of trout in there and 500 lbs. of bass so should be getting some good foot traffic throughout the weekend.

For sunny conditions go buy those glare shield plastic sheets they make for computer monitors.  OfficeMax, Staples, etc. Just cut it out into a circle and you can slip it on whenever you want.  Solved that problem.
