Great!!  Good catch!   
I did make it out yesterday on Portage.  Tons of fish, but nothing great.  9” crappies and gills from 3-9”.  It might be one and done this year for me.  Hoping for a weather turn around!

Ok thanks!   I figured it’d be weeks end before it’s safe.  I’ve been on Zep before.  Cool little lake.   Was he on the upper or lower one?   I’m hoping to be feeling better and over whatever it is I’ve got by the weekend.   We will have ice for sure!

Toadfish, David doesn’t anymore, but IFO still does.  He’s too busy with his pro career and managing the fishing expos.  I’ll PM you my number and if we get good ice someone will be happy to take you out.  I would love to do it, but my Indian experience is limited.   I’ll get you in touch with a guide more experienced down there.  :)

I’m getting close.   If we don’t get at least a skim ice by Feb 1 I’m going to as well.   I always hold out hope till Feb 1.   If it’s not here by then, it won’t be.

I know.  I’m really hoping for a late freeze.  I remember those days too.   I had really high hopes for this season with those couple of -5 days before Christmas.

I know.  This sucks.   I really thought with that cold blast we’d get a nice ice base and the start to a nice long season.   Boy was I wrong!   Totally sucks!

Same here!  We had a couple fishable days some places on Portage, but I was tied up for both.  Hoping for a cold second half of January and a really cold February.

All we can do.  We got like two days in a couple places up here and I was tied up both days.  Super bummed out about that.   Hoping after this January thaw we’ll have a good second half of January and February.
