General Discussion / Re: 1 Trip 2 Limits

First of all, you don't have to prove they are from the previous day. They have to prove they are not. Innocent until proven guilty. Just tell him you can not answer any questions until your lawyer is present. hahha we do still live in America right?

Hunting and fishing are in the same class as driving, Its a privilege not a right in the eyes of the government.

Ok I get that. My question is does it say anywhere in the laws that you have to take a picture with a date of a fish.
if it doesn't than its not a law. To me that would seem like they would have to see you do it to write a ticket. And even if they did write the ticket they would have to prove it in court. That's all I am saying. It very well could be in the laws that there is a right way to mark your fish from a previous day catch. I wont act like I read every law in the book but I sure don't remember seeing it in there.

Lake La Sue Ann / 2/7
« on: February 07, 2015, 08:46:52 PM »
Hit the lake to day with my uncle. It was slow all day for the most part. Drilled about 30 holes and just kept bouncing around picking one up here and there. Had hole drilled from 10ft to 20ft. There didn't seem to be much of a pattern. The screen would fill up long enough to catch one. Then by the time you got back down they were gone. Chartreuse tungsten head with a red soft plastic tail was my weapon of choice. Uncle was using jigs and meat. We both caught about the same. Ended the day with around 30 good ones. But we fished all day.

Well I got out for an hour after work. I kept 11 fish 5 crappie and 6 nice gills. That being said the quiver stick is pretty nice. I could feel the jig and the bite far better than any other rod I own. I have a clam a meat stick a frabill ultra light and a frabill quick tip. Of those rods the quick tip is my favorite. It is the most sensitive. I will say it don't even come close to comparing with the quiver stick on feel. On the other hand the tip is much more stiffer than any other rod I have ever used for pan fish. If you are a spring bobber guy this is diffidently not the rod for you. If that is what you are looking for you would be much happier with the TB power noodle.  For me it is pretty much what I was looking for the balance and weight of the rod feel amazing. The stiff tip give you great control while your shaking the jig. As of now I would say the only thing that could make this rod better would be to lighten up the tip ever so slightly. Not much though. In all I think I will be very happy with it but I did only use it for an hour. I will have a full weekend with it so my opinions may change. I will keep you posted.

Well, its here. I put a fluger spinning real on it for now but I will probably go with a frabill 101 strait line when I find one. It seems pointless to buy such a light rod and put a heavy real on it. Any thoughts? At first glance it is a little stiffer at the tip than I had expected. On the other hand after tying on a 1/32 lindy toad and bouncing it the overall feel of this rod is outstanding. I will diffidently be fishing this weekend so I will let you know what I think after I pull a few through the hole with it.

;D Well I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a Thorne Brother quiver stick stealth. I have been wanting one for a while but I could never wrap my head around paying 100 bucks for a ice rod. If im lucky it will be here by Friday and I can use it this weekend. If not I just might have to take a day or to off next week. I just hope im not disappointed with it because that will suck. BAD.

i havn't been for a week but after the warm up there seemed to be more ice than before the warm up. On the north end it was 8 inches or so evrywhere. I cant speek for the south end since i havnt been down there. I know that there was some open water issues before the warm up.

yes you should definitely be able to see bottom and you jig. It sounds to me like you don't have something set right. Probably your gain. There is tons of videos on youtube that will explain to you how to set it up and what it should look like once you have it set properly. If that doesn't work maybe its just a bad unit but I doubt it.
