Fished Walborn for a couple hours this morning, had some free time. Hit the crappies in timber over 17' of water. The fish were 3-7' off the bottom. I was using a red/white tinmouth torpedo 1/32oz tipped with 2 waxies. These fish wanted it jigged aggressively, unlike the Nimi fish yesterday. Got about 20 in the time I was there, half legal keepers. The size range was 5-11 1/2". There were also some Christmas trees that are on the ice I marked with my gps. They were over deeper water near the channel, so next winter they should be good trees. The ice in the area I fished was good, 11"+, but around the culvert on Reeder Road there was open water yesterday, so be careful if you fish in that area.
