Fished Nettle today from 7:30 am to 1 pm. Another tough bite day.
Two of us started in 3 fow and moved out from there. Drilled close to 40 holes again today. Lots of lookers and sniffers but few takers. Jigs, plastics, spikes, wax worms, chubby darters, minnows, etc. They wouldn't touch a minnow or plastics. Fished from 3' out to 25'. Finally found them in 22', kept coming up to check bait and then leave. Dropped the AquaVu down and watched the crappie just cruising.
Did end up with one 10" crappie, 4" perch and a dozen dink gills. Beautiful day to be on the ice except for the bite. We were the only ones on the ice.
. Fish were on the bottom to suspended 5' off bottom. Wondering if the full moon last night had them feeding way late and way early.
Well, that's why they call it fishing and not catching.
Ice was 7-1/2".
