Dream Bridge Bite 12_2016
« on: December 17, 2016, 04:12:31 AM »

I heard there is a decent saugeye bite on at dream bridge.  Can anyone confirm and report ice conditions?

Great place to get plowed by a snowmobile! I cannot confirm anyone fishing well at Dream Bridge.
I had a few decent fish yesterday at Long Island and several good marks at Moundwood around dusk.

Its not safe in that area, between the snowmobiles and the moving water. However, its a great place to fish.

Haven't heard about dream bridge. I've actually never ice fished it. Heard too many experienced guys tell me to stay away. Plus there isn't any good place to park I'm told. I went tonight. Parked at moundwood. Walked over to Dunns pond to try for panfish. Lots of marks but couldn't get a nibble. Ice was prob close to 5 inches with a lot of water on top. Just a heads up it looks like someone tried to get a boat out of there before it was thick ice. Lots of chunks frozen in the channel and out towards the mouth there was what looked like some open water where maybe they turned around? I didn't get very close but be careful if you are over that way. Anyway went back and sat at moundwood. Few marks right off but no takers. Switched baits a bunch of times and they finally showed up about 4 -430. Ended up with a limit of 15 1/2 to 18 inchers. All on vibe. Very soggy tonight but I'm happy with my first trip out. Going back in the morning if the roads aren't too bad.

Nice catch 30. Were they in the channel or towards the mouth on the lake side?  Is the broken ice towards the ramp or the mouth?  How deep and what color?  I may try it tomorrow, it will be cold but not much wind. I am worried the clear skies may shut them down.

Dream bridge report was a rumor I heard.  I had doubt's ice was thick enough this early.  Parking is a problem there.

They were out at the mouth. The broken ice was at the entrance to Dunns pond. Moundwood itself was fine. They were on the bottom. I was using an 1/8 Oz clown vibe. But I saw guys catching them on other colors. I may try to get up this afternoon. Hopefully the roads are better. Good luck if you go
