Ice out crappie smackdown! 2-23-18

Did some wading at portage today and it turned out pretty dang good! Caught around 50 crappie between 7-11” fishing a 1/64th jig and 1” Black Shad gulp under a float 18”-3ft deep. Fish were caught in 4-6fow in and around the weeds. Orange and black were the top producing jig colors. Boy do I love smashing crappie on artificials! All fish were released.

Had a good day myself. Slept in. Hit st marys about 1030. Caught a limit. Home by dinner these will be released in a frying pan full of hot oil.

Got out for a couple hours after work today 2-26-18 Caught 8 crappie missed a bunch more the bite was tough picky fish. Small picky fish 6-9” . Same deal 1” gulp minnow &1/64th jig
Only used orange today. Even tho the bite sucked Im glad I could make a few casts

. They are there! I know a group of 4 guys caught 13 yesterday in 4 hours maybe one of them is a member here maybe he will chime in.
