Grand Lake Ice 1-21-2019

I just checked  the ice on the open part of the lake and it is about 6" thick.  Some spots near shore only took one good hit with the Spud to go through.  The top 1.5" is pretty much frozen slush and not very strong.  With a little luck, the warm and rain may help remedy that.  I am hoping for some good, cold weather about mid-week.

I’ll be over this week, too many people on Indian Lake and no parking. I really don’t care if I catch a thing, it almost makes me want to quit ice fishing.

Good Call, Ive never iced fished either lake On ice. Is it a pretty far distance to walk to your spot on Independece? Ive never fished the waters but understand there is some serious acreage.
