I think ice should be fine. Might not make a bunch more ice, but should hold what it has, gonna be a couple good cold nights this week so may make a bit more hopefully.

Lee I stay at sleep in or best western, sleep inn is where I stay most of time. It's bout same price as best western but much nicer place. It's not far from route 2 or the launch at Catwaba.

I seen quite a few liquid cooled sleds pulled over off trail with hoods up last year. But it's a rare to not have some snow on ice. 9 times out of 10 you will be fine. Scratchers can help. Yesterday there was a lot of water on ice so it wouldn't have been a issue.

Couple of us fished out of 305 and only managed 1 eye and a couple of perch. Ice was in great shape with about 9-10". Clown vibe got eyes and perch. Pretty slow day but nice to be out.

If it makes it thru tomrw, I may try to walk out of Catawba Sunday. Looks like the winds are gonna calm down and come from the North Sunday afternoon. I guess I will see how bad tomrw gets before I make that decision.

I pretty much just target walleyes but my buddy got a few crappie down on south end last weekend. Out from 305 area.

Me and a few buddy's fished south end out from 305 launch, ice was 5-6". We caught quite a few walleyes and a few perch. 14 fow clown vibe was best for me. Lots of eyes being caught. Seems they were hitting just about anything. Ice is clear and in good shape.

I checked ice at the marina and 305 launch today, ice was 2.5" at best. There was a pretty decent snow covering on lake. I was hoping to get out Sunday but not sure. I Will check it again Sunday. Anybody have any reports from the bouy line?

The bouy line is as good place as any to start. It is accessed from the Pike Bay parking area in the North west side of lake. Rt 305 launch and the cemetery on the south side are also good places to try.
