We are expecting close to 2 inches of rain here along with the warm weather. Also,  they are predicting 15 mph sustained winds along with 20-25 mph gusts. I am due east of Indian Lake. I think she will be unsafe come the weekend but hey, that's why I asked for a set of eyes over there in another thread.

Thanks for the heads up Jigmup.
You're welcome g. I'd like to have a set of eyes over there seeing how I'm from Indiana. Anyone willing to oblige please PM me. I can go more in depth about the bite as well.

I started at North Fork Friday eve and caught 3 shorts. Sat. morning I went to where they normally are late Feb. and they were there.

I was there a few weeks ago for the first round of safe ice. I took a limit and threw back maybe 5. I got mine on no. 5 glow green tiger rap, gold buckshot and a 1/8 oz. orange jig head with the minnow down its throat and out the back. I think being on top of active fish is the key!

I'm hearing they expect around 150 people. The list of vendors that are giving talks and demonstrations is top notch. Can't think of a better way to spend an iceless Saturday!

I was hoping to attend the show and then fish but it looks like the latter is not going to happen.

Fished Blackhawk and Paradise Saturday.
Only fished Paradise for about an hour. Marked 1 good fish there. Spent the morning and evening on Blackhawk. We caught maybe 18 saugeyes but only kept 1 16 incher. Most of them were cookie cutters at 14.5 inches. Most fish came in the mouth of Blackhawk. Had probably 6 inches of good hard ice when we got there but by the time we left the ice was going fast with 2/3rds of it full of air.
When the sun came up and the wind started blowing, slabs of ice were breaking off in the open channel running east to west.

Fish caught on buckshots, flyers, raps and VibE's

sounds about right wapak!
Any general areas we should focus on. I know Moundwood has been fished but have heard its not the greatest. Paradise point is where I may try. Maybe Blackhawk as well.

I haven't been that way yet this year but plan to hit it this weekend.
I have heard that a lot of the places where anglers take them aren't being fished so I plan to try those areas unless someone would be generous enough to point me and you in the right direction. I have never had a bad outing through the ice on Indian but usually there is already a pattern established and I take advantage of that.

With that said, you are welcome to hook up with me Saturday morning and go looking for them. I tend to drop meat instead of jerking Vibe's.
