Several guys out on the ice at North Fork, and a few over on the Pony side. I went poking around the bank, there was some slushy stuff in one spot on the south facing shore by the bridge, but all in all the ice seemed pretty decent.
The snow isn't really piled up too bad, which is encouraging, but there are drifts about a foot deep that wrap the banks about 20-30yds out. Be careful in those spots. You can look and see the suspect ice in most spots.
Spoke to a guy that was going out on his own, said he had a spud and I told him the spud would tell the story at the bank, beyond that there were several people out so it would be fairly safe in terms of numbers of anglers.
As always, be careful, don't fish alone. The ice got pretty solid last week after the thaw, but has been compromised somewhat by the combination of snow and sunshine.
