Just finished up with the bulk of my mods to my Wide One Inferno.
>carpeted box
-cut out for five gallon bucket
-cut out for bait bucket
-fully lined tackle storage compartment
-separate battery storage
-vertical rod storage for up to 6 rods
-cargo netting for buddy heater
>L.E.D. lighting
-strip lighting on front 2 support rods
-spot light beneath feet (extra light on the ice while fishing)
-spot light on front auger bracket (so i can see where I'm going at night/early
morning)
-2 U.S.B. and 1 car charging ports
-lighted rocker switches
>Square tube auger rack on front
>Larger diameter and longer pull rope, with welded center ring for ice anchor point.
>collapsible heating rack for buddy heater
>Obligatory stickers to make it go faster
Big thanks to all you guys who post your shanty mods. Really helped me with ideas. Now the waiting game for safe ice. Hope everyone has a safe and productive year. See ya on the ice

Looks like a safer way to warm up left over pizza then my tradition of laying it right on top

Very nice, bring on the cold! Does the rack on the heater fold, pack for when you are moving? Eskimo wide inferno is on my wish list, especially after seeing your tricked out version.

when you remove the "cooking rack" from the buddy heater. the legs fold flat on to the rack. makes storage much easier.

Just curious how much extra weight it added to your setup?

Not including my fishing gear and other things i would normally pack. I estimate about 15-18lbs. Really its just a half sheet of 1/2" plywood, 2 batteries (1 would probably suffice), and some wire and lights. I would guess fully loaded probably 95-100lbs.

Can you elaborate on your lighting a little - I wanted to do something similar but was worried about them being damaged when the shack is being raised & lowered.

Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been on the site much due to the warm weather. The strip lighting is place slightly to the inside of the poles, so when the lay together the strips won't be damaged. Although the strip lighting does have approximately 1/8'' of silicone or epoxy on top to seal and protect the l.e.d.s and circuitry. This design allows for them to be flexible and relatively crush resistant. hopes this answered your question.

I'm curious. How did you mount/support the deck? I love the sled. May do something similar over the summer.
