Soft Water Fishing Reports / Pike Fishing In Ireland
« on: December 09, 2011, 02:32:08 AM »
Me and my sister went to ireland about three weeks ago.Managed to sneak out for a days fishing.Found guide on internet before i left USA and he picked me up at hotel.Took about hour to go to his lodge to hook boat up and we were on the water hour later.Second cast i hooked pike over 20 lbs and lost it.Hour later Dan boats one 23 lbs on the scale.Hour later i boated one 19 1/2 my biggest pike ever. Then he hooked another but soon got off.Going back in august, temps average 66 degrees as high then.Trout season is in then and i want to catch one of those two pound yellow perch he was talkin about .Great Trip.He said they dont eat yellow perch over there.I told him when i come back id fry him some up.We caught them on 10-12 inch rubber rainbow trout swimbaits. If any body wants to go in august or need info to contact dan let me know

General Discussion / Flotation Suit
« on: January 29, 2011, 02:46:55 AM »
I been thinking about buying a flotation suit.the mustang integrity is around 500 which i cant put the money out right now.I found one on net called Sundrige flotation suit made in england .For around 150.00 for coat and bibs i saw anotherpost like it was four years old said they were buying one and said it was certified and got good reviews but couldnt find any reviews. The clam model isnt really a certified flotation suit but will keep you afloat.Anybody own one?Ive been off the ice for about a month due to bronchitis and  im chompin at the bit to get back out.they always say you get what you pay for.

Went out by the marsh today fishing was slow where i was and picked up couple hours before dark.Caught about 15 gills and 5 crappie on small jigs/waxies.Walking back about halfway to fairfield beach couple of guys on quad/trailer asked if i would like a ride back to the parking lot and i said sure.Come to find out it was doug stewart i knew him from high school days. Thanks Doug i appreciated the ride back.He had bucket with a bunch of big bluegills. He also guides on the lake and provides shuttle service to pull all your gear out.I am going to  use that my four man shanty about kills you pulling it out and back.Ask mike (heaven bound) he will vouch for that .Going back tomorrow for round three.

General Discussion / Mr Heater Buddy Heaters
« on: January 30, 2010, 09:26:13 PM »
I bought my first one a few years back and i love it.Lights real easy.Well anyhow Lowes has the little buddy which is variable 4-9000 btu model number #F273486 and lowes item #122001 for 39.50.And they have the big buddy which is 4-18000btu model #F274815 and lowes item#131258 for 69.50.they sell for 79.00 for little 139.00 for big.they have 1 little one left at easton lowes for 39.50.I went to buy the big buddy for my larger shanty and they didnt have any left, but they sold me a floor model for 40.00 less box and manual and they happened to have a little buddy floor model also for 20.00.so i got 2 heaters for 60.00 and some change.Call your nearest lowes and get them to look up on computer how many surrounding stores have them left.and they or you can call that store and they will save it for you until you can arrange to pick it up.Give them the lowes model number.ask if they have new or any display models left.If anybody lives near zanesville they had 6 left and lancaster 1 left. And there were other stores that had them.Just a heads up before you drive there and there out of them Call First.

Anybody tried one?i bought one last spring and used it last week for the first time.i was skeptical at first but it reallly works.works great on gills and crappies.get more fillet meat and less waste.still have make cut on head and pull guts out and derib them and take fillet off skin.does two fillets at same time with two bladed knive.my cousin can fillet probably 100 gills in a half hour with electric knife but im slower and one guy can use this while other does the rest.he liked it.
