Title: Secondary Safety/Throw Rope
Post by: icebucketjohn on December 23, 2017, 07:11:01 AM
After falling thru last Saturday at PLX/OSP, got to thinking of some of my safety equipment. Thought I'd share this tip with ya'all.

It's my shanty pull-rope. It's a secondary throw/rescue rope attached to my shanty that is easily & quickly removable with a carabiner to the shanty sled eye bolt.

TG I didn't need it last week, but nonetheless there if required.

I always take a rope that is hooked to a boat cusion or life jacket.

I carry a water ski rope. It's 75 ft. long and an arm can be slipped through the floating handle.

Mustang makes a pretty good throw rope in a nice self contained bag. Its small and doesn't take up much space.

I carry an anchor rope I got at Walmart figure it is plenty strong and the clip gives it weight for throwing(50 or 75 foot). The rope on my shanty is about 20 foot long and also has the anchor clip.

I have that blue rope from wally world with handles on each end.  its nice because its soft.  for 3.86 $  50 ft is a good deal.   even a monkey fist on each end would be good.
