Yeah. I really enjoy the dock fishing. The tournaments have become a real event that I look forward to. Plus, for me, it's local.

Sorry guys. Don't want to rain on the parade, but I have a dock at Alum Creek, and I think that they are replacing them this fall. They want to build the same type of docks that they have at Delaware lake. Bad on two fronts. Docks will not be accessible ( they want the boat owners out after labor day) if they pull them, and if they're the same setup as Delaware, won't be accessible in the winter. Hope I'm wrong on the second. And hope that they don't pull them all at the same time this fall.

Don't feel bad guys, you did better than quite a few people I talked to that were up there Saturday.

Sounds like if you're looking for the perfect day to fish in Ohio, you're limiting yourself to a day and a half a year.

I think that a 3pm to 10pm tourney would be cool.

Yeah. They have tip up town. Big winter party on the ice. Sure there a few holes in the ice. Popular sport there. Big lake. Sure less holes there per square mile than here. With their temps and 15' of ice, holes don't stay open long. Supposed to be high in teens and lows in single digits next weekend.

Going to Houghton Lake next weekend. Thinnest ice as of yesterday, 500 yards offshore was 15".

Eskimo did it right. Them and otter are my two favorites. I have a two man thermal clam and like it, but a heavy trudge to the fishing spot.

Never underestimate the smell of a good pizza oven.

Has anyone come up with a contraption to make the cooking on a buddy heater ergonomic?

In my case, I'm just concerned with the body of water, thickness, and safeness of the ice. Your honey hole is safe with me. I can go anywhere and get skunked. I just don't want to fall through the ice while I'm getting skunked.
