Title: Good starting point
Post by: wapak ice dawg on December 22, 2016, 08:28:30 AM
Taking a coworker ice fishing today after work, any good ideas on where a good starting point would be, we only have at max 2 hrs of daylight which makes scouting time almost nil. Any good info would be appreciated

Earl's island for gills or luthman road for saugeye/crappie.  I hope you are already fishing and catching.

I'm not real familiar with the lake but we went just north of the spillway bait store and caught some gills, nothing real big but there were some in the 7" range but more in the 4" , black seemed to be the go to color . I thought about going to Luthmans for the saugeye, but the last few years it's been a hit or miss , for me that's alright but I had a new ice fisherman there and I wanted him to catch something, we had fun and that's all that really matters, plus I toyed around with the lowrance
