I'm not sure it matters either way based on the extended forecast.  No sustained temps below freezing beginning the 10th.

Hopefully she doesn't find out about your generous offer...

Extended 15 day forecast shows only one day in the next 10 days with a high below freezing, with two days this weekend near 50.  Not good news.  There might be a glimmer of hope for a refreeze starting on 1/5/17.

My wife already questions why I spend thousands on ice fishing gear that tends to just take up space in the garage... I'll let everyone know when she makes me have the garage sale.  ;)

If I don't get anything on Alum I am driving up to Pleasant Hill.  I hear they are nailing the crappie and perch up there.

I think I am going to try up around Howard Rd. ramp Friday afternoon.  If I don't get anything going up there I am going to move down to the parking area on the west side of the lake at 36/37.

I have never ice fished it before as I have heard puckering stories about the water levels changing.

With that said, I will try anything once and the way Alum has been going I think it's about time

Out of 3,300 + acres of ice to fish, there has to be fish somewhere in this lake besides down at the New Galena ramp.   Has anyone ventured around the lake and had any luck?

I fished at the dock and around the cove area at the Berkshire Road boat ramp yesterday for about 3 hours.  Not a single bite.

I also talked to a couple guys who lost a vital piece of their auger up north at the Howard Rd. ramp.  They sacrificed their auger for a "couple" bluegill.
