local ice conditions
« on: January 20, 2012, 01:40:24 PM »

although I cant speak for Indian Lake itself ,I did venture out today to a pond close to Indy, there was a skim of ice on the pond with thicker ice in the shallow corners. After seeing this I decided it was not worth my 30 mile round trip to take a look and see. Hopefully somebody will give an up to date status on Indy later today.

A friend went out to Long Island this morning and said the ice was not safe. No one was on it. That was early so can't say if anything changed today. We are supposed to have .1-.25" of freezing rain tonight around Columus so I know I won't be going to Indian Saturday. I am so sick of no ice.

What did the freezing rain, sleet, and snow do to the ice up there?? Anyone have a recent update? The temps look to be going back up again!! >:(
