Title: Ice conditions?
Post by: Bassnpro1 on February 06, 2010, 10:01:14 AM
Whenever somebody gets out can you let me know if the snow is on the ice or if it liquefied?  The ice on my quarry liquefied and should be a good 8 inches of good hard white ice by tomorrow morning!  I'm pumped that the snow did that.

Walked out a ways out of Galena with Ying and the ice is going fast. two inches of crap plus all the snow had the ice down to just under 3 inches of good stuff. too much weight on the ice with the snow for me to feel safe out there. be very careful. Did see some holes that had been drilled earlier but the holes had bubbles coming up from them?????

There was only 3 1/2 inches before the snow. I would think that the snow would insulate and the ice would not grow. Add the snow weight and this can be dangerous. I would fish the docks at the marina. I have had some good day's on the docks and its the safe way to go.
