Well I guess it's back to fishing the Marina.  Walked out the boatramp around a 4' crack and there is still 6" of rotting ice.  Didn't look good enough to sit on with the high winds so went to the marina.  Caught 6 keeper crappies, several small ones, little gills and a couple of 5"perch.  Only fished an hour.  It's dock fishing using small #14 wire wrapped jigs and spikes.
Fish were right off bottom.  Jiggled and held still.  Took about 10-15 seconds before they'd bite.  Well it's only mid Feb. and who knows what cold spells are left.  Just remember any spot you caught fish from under the ice should have fish on softwater for several weeks.  Also the Marina should have a good bite for several weeks to come.  You may have to move and use electronics to find them but quality are caught every year in there after ice-out.   Enjoyed the company I met through the this website and hope to see you all next year.
specialty is walleye saugeye and sauger with a sprinkling of crappies and perch.

Marc, glad you did some good in the Marina. Will tell you of 3  spots with cover that believe only 1 person fished.  As you come down into the Marina, go just past the E parking area to 1st tree on your right; 20-25`out. Directly opposite on the N side between the 1st pair of trees, same distance off shore. last is on the Left hand side of Marina boat ramp from end of the safety wall to the 2nd column of the blding infront of the Restraunt door. All are "BB"S and none is over 24" tall. Hand typed your message and relayed it to Debra Walters; she was impressed with your credentials. She suggested asking you to post it on Ohio Game Fishing in "CJ Brown Project Help" to assist us in finding help, told her would run it by you...probabily couldn`t hurt; your opinion carries some decisive weight...Thank You, Marc!

How many persons were fishing in the Marina today; would bet it`s getting crowdwed with the ice getting "iffy" on the main lake. Apparently the Intimidator had some luck at Clark Lake yesterday, said got 22 keepers near the dam there. ! cat daddy, let us know when you will be available to get the blocks, sir...

Tin Guppy, there USED to be 18 "C" trees along side on the ends, and the inside corners and UNDER the W end of the fuel pier; when they replaced it last spring, all were removed, which has affected the fishing there significantly since then. Too bad we are expressly FORBIDDEN from replacing it due to diver`s concerns while possibly repairing anchor cables...2cnd winter they were in, Carl (former concession operator) forgot to turn off the light then on the end of the dock, and someone swung it out over the ice... was a "shad magnet'; saw DOZENS of walleyes and close to 100 BIG slab crappies caught there till Carl found out and turned it off! Not the spot it USED to be...
