Is it me or does the bite seem to be picking up? Are we through the mid winter slow down? I know the crappie and eye bite has started to pick up on Alum, has the bite started to pick up on your local lake?

I've been hitting farm ponds and killing 'em the last 10 days or so. Filling up the bucket with nice big gills.

Crv the bite up here has certainly picked up in the last two weeks. I think we made it through mid winter. Dave

CRV i am also starting to feel better about the bite. Last night at Alum we got into the crappies real well they were coming up to meet the jig 3-4 feet off the bottom and pounding it. Then tonight was vibing a hole in 14-15 foot of water landed a fat 22" and lost a bigger eye. Only saw 3 marks on screen but all three charged the vibe and hit it i am just rusty from all those hours of lift and fall with nothing, gotta remember when you feel a hit set the hook!

Ouch! It's been really tough bite for me lately. I'm seeing fish on the camera but they are really finicky! Glad to hear someones gettin em.

I don't know about any lengthy periods of bites but at least it's been more consistent for the eyes. I would like to get on some good panfish this weekend which hopefully would be more like the end of the mid winter blues.
I also would like to get a eye bigger than the one you caught last week...
