I always like to start the new season with a ice safety thread for a reminder to all of us to be care full.
Here are a few things to remember and i am sure we will get more great advice.
1. No ice should be considered safe ice.
2. Clear ice is much stronger that grey or honeycombed ice.
3. Always use a spud bar to check your ice. Even when walking off the ice.
4. Have spare clothes in the car in case you go through
5. Watch safety video under ice safety board
6. Have ice safety spikes on your person
7. Never fish alone
8. Whistle
