Welcome!  This was my first season ice fishing too.  I have found this site to be very helpful to learn the basics of ice fishing.  I look at reports for most of the lakes, even though I only fish a couple of them.  Many of the things people report working at one lake will tend to work in others.

Thanks guys, Slabslayer, I sent you a PM I think. I got out of the army after 8 years in Feb, now I am a Police Officer in Wellington, Oh. If anyone is ever fishing up there I would like to sit in with you, as I have no idea what I am doing. I usually fish in Vermilion, and some back country ponds in Lorain county. I have a pond with some HUGE bluegill but I havent caught any lately.
