I had that happen on wingfoot, people said the light on it would scare fish. Looks like it makes them hungry.

Night fishing for crappie I'll sometimes use lights to draw them in.  I've not noticed it spooking the fish.

Jeff, do you rate the Aqua-Vu? It's been on my list for a while but I've had it more on the toy side vs a useful tool....

I can't speak for Jeff, but I have the same unit and love it!!  Fits in your pocket, can drop down the hole and see what you are making on your flasher/sonar. What species. It saved me a lot of time not fishing for shad schools.  :P Also it lets you know which weeds are green and which ones are dead. And that can be a huge help determining where to target early panfish.

Thanks! I think I know why they haven't made it up the list yet...pretty expensive but maybe with upcoming sales I'll take another look....

Ditto to what Slab said. It's a tool in addition to my Vex and fun also but not a replacement for the Vex. Difficult to see much in cloudy, stained water. When you do decide to pull the trigger; go to the Aqua Vu web page and look into their re-furbished units that come with factory warranty. A little cheaper this way.

Thanks for the advice....refurbished might be the way to go...
