Go to Ice Fish Ohio on Facebook and check out the slide show I'm working on.
Let me know what you think.
It's too big a file for this site.
Thanks.

My contact at ODNR/La Sue Ann informed me this week that La Sue Ann Wildlife area will NOT be open to ICE FISHING this winter. They met their catch quota for the year during open water. BUMMER!! Would have liked to get on it again.

I second NTOICEMAN36 comments!!! Thanks again to all the IFO members and Pro Staff that really helped to make the show a Big success. Thanks to Roger who really was a big asset in the booth with me all weekend. Couldn't have done it without him. Really think he needs to become a full time salesman of the WilCraft Was really glad to see the BGSU fishing team come down to help(Way to go Falcons) Thanks to Ron Sharp(Tournament Director Great Lakes Largemouth Series) for offering the BGSU team's help. Another Great Expo and we are already working on next year's. Great to see more members there this year and get a chance to put faces with the names. Bring on the 2017 Expo and Look Out!

NW Ohio. Here comes the 2nd coming 10 day forecast: Wed; H 22 L 9, Thu; H 23 L 11, Fri; H 23 L 13, Sat; H 19 L 9; Sun; H 21 L 13, Mon; H 24 L 21; Tue;(2/16) H 29 L 21. My pond still has ice and the edges re-freeze each night. Should be back on the ice in 2 weeks. Just a reminder; while you're waiting for the ice to re-freeze, you can fuel your fishing bug by joining us at the Columbus Fishing Expo this coming weekend. Come on down and stop by the IFO booth and say hi to Dave, Nate, myself, CRV, Doug, Firefish and everyone working the IFO booth, plus stock up on all your fishing supplies from the numerous vendors that will be there. Sure to be a great time and even better than last year.

I bought the new Clam Kenai Pro Thermal this year. 1 man flip over and it only weighs 40 pounds with out gear. The thermal cover on this model doesn't add much weight.

Fished Nettle today from 7:30 am to 1 pm. Another tough bite day. Two of us started in 3 fow and moved out from there. Drilled close to 40 holes again today. Lots of lookers and sniffers but few takers. Jigs, plastics, spikes, wax worms, chubby darters, minnows, etc. They wouldn't touch a minnow or plastics. Fished from 3' out to 25'. Finally found them in 22', kept coming up to check bait and then leave. Dropped the AquaVu down and watched the crappie just cruising. Did end up with one 10" crappie, 4" perch and a dozen dink gills. Beautiful day to be on the ice except for the bite. We were the only ones on the ice. . Fish were on the bottom to suspended 5' off bottom. Wondering if the full moon last night had them feeding way late and way early. Well, that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Ice was 7-1/2".

Fished Nettle today from 8am to 5 pm. Tough bite. Drilled close to 60 holes today. Fished from 3' to 25'. Lots of lookers this morning but no takers. 3 of us fishing. Finally went to my go to spot in 25' this afternoon and started marking consistently at 18' Ice was 7-1/2" in the hole. Rest of ice was 4-1/2" plus. Open water in the middle from geese. A lot of lookers and followers but few takers. Used white, blue, green, red, yellow, pink, black, etc. Plastics, wax, spikes and minnows. Finally they hit on orange teardrop with spikes. Not a single taker on minnows. Ended up with 3 keeper gills and 1 - 9" crappie and 10 dink gills. Dropped the AquaVu down and about 4' of visibility. No one else on lake until 3 pm when 2 other fisherman showed up and went where we were in the morning, then about 4 pm two ice skaters showed up. Planning to give it another shot in the morning.
