IF you want to keep out snow and debris and are an elcheapo like me, use saran wrap and a rubber band to create a see-through cover. It does not make the screen any easier to read, but does not make it harder either. As a bonus, it costs nearly nothing.

Thanks for the info Tim. Too bad I missed it. Maybe I'll have better luck on the upcoming Wednesday.

Are the chats in January on Wednesday or Saturday? I am interested in participating in the one with Jason Mitchell but have never done it before.
Someone please help.
Thanks!

I hope things start locking up and get thick here soon. Looking forwards to getting out at Luthman Rd. for some saugeyes. It has been too long since wetting a line through a hole.

Be careful, there are 40's and rain in the forecast again. I am about ready to put all the ice gear away for the season. with high winds and no skim ice, there may not be much building of safe ice.

Your catching them in open water? I never fished Bresler in the soft water season.
Last year I was on the hump between the pumphouses along the south side in 9 fow but a little closer to the east P/H. If I went 30 yards west, north or south, I was in 17 fow. Never marked a fish.
PM me if you have any GPS coordinates or would like to fish together if we ever get ice.
Thanks for the help!

Perch are HUGE, ive caught 12-16in perch and nice saugeye upwards of 25in.
Where do you catch these perch and saugeye? I have done nothing but get skunked and not marked any fish on my vexilar on Bresler. Tried south side near weed beds, northeast corner, east side and never marked a fish last year.

Bummer dude. I think I may head to another lake on Monday since wind is supposed to be out of the NE on Sunday. I was hoping the eyes may be turning on. How much ice was there at NF?

Anyone been fishin/catchin at Luthman Rd after the warm spell at the 1st of the year? Want to get out again, maybe Sunday. Don't want to waste any gas and time if the ice is not good there. Lots of open water on Grand lake right in front of the house. It appears to be opening up more instead of freezing, even given the recent cold temps.

I hope you did better than me, I was there and got skunked. Left about 1:30 because the kids had stuff going on. Clouds just started to head in from west and started seeing a couple small ones being caught. I hope you had better luck than I did!

No Catch and Release, they would still have to man the check-in station. The last time I fished there in open water you had to give your fishing license to them in return for a permit. Weh you were finished fishing, they would return you license when you gave them your permit back and they counted and recorded your fish, if you were allowed to keep any.
