My bro- kpi was kind enough to post this pic of guys on the ice at Wellington. This was from around noon. No word on a bite. Looks like we maybe out soon. Notice 4 guys on ice.
CORRECTION THIS IS A LOCAL POND IN WELLINGTON NOT THE UPGROUND. I MISUNDERSTOOD. WHEN HE SAID WELLINGTON I TOOK IT AS THE UPGROUND. None the less. We are close!!!!!

Has anyone drove by the upground yet this year?
Or Spencer Lake?
Hoping the ice is fishable this weekend.
Let us know if anyone has any reports, either visual or spud checked.
I will head out to the upground this evening after work to see what it looks like.

i went last friday i think it was it was wide open my brother posted about a farm pond covered over with a few brave guys out there in wellington give us an update for the upground i enjoy fishing there
-
Upground is totaly covered, except for the center which the geese still have opened up.
Didnt get out and check thickness it was to dark by the time I got there.
-
soon enough can not wait to get out

Spencer has 2" tight white on top 2" - 3" crystal clear on the bottom at 100' from the bank On the north lake. I will be there sat morning. Let's hope the weather holds next week.
-
Spencer has 3.5-4.5 inches of ice.Guys were fishing this morning but i would stay off the areas that have snow crust as it is probably thinner here.
-
Checked this morning very early. Still a large open area and ice not locked in. Could shift as there was a pressure crack. Can't see it setting up any time soon w/ warm spell coming. Did not spud or drill. Was on my way to meet a buddy to fish pond out west. Hope for some brutal cold!

I'll be at Spencer lake Monday . Look for a blue schapell. I'll be on the south side cooking this years backstop the my lantern.
-
Went up to take a look at 430pm Tuesday. Too my surprise there is skim ice. 70% covered with open pockets in between. West Bank is open, but should be sealed up tonight. The whole lake should be locked in the morning. Another plus is the area with the geese has froze over, them darn geese don't know where to go now... With luck I'm thinking 3" by Friday and maybe safe by the weekend. The snow is the only issue from here on out. Cross fingers.....
-
Thanks for the update . I'll be at Spencer Friday. I'll keep y'all posted. I can't wait to gett on Wellington again

Let us know- I will spencer on saturday if you find good ice

Saturday will be the day for me. I'm hoping I can hit Wellington. These temps should have it building fast as long as the snow and wind stay low. Starting the truck after work this morning at 4am (diesel) was basically a crap shoot. Had to wait 5 minutes before all 8 cylinders were firing. Lol
-
I would like to hit Wellington also Saturday if someone could check the ice and report today.
-
Any reports?

I heard 2.5"-3". 2 guys were on it tidal but I didn't see it with my own eyes.
