Title: Nimisila Thursday 1/23
Post by: icebucketjohn on January 24, 2014, 10:51:06 AM
Fished mid-day with my son, Nathan, along with my nephew, Derrick and his 4 yr old daughter, Mattie. Derricks girlfriend, Taylor, came out with a lil home-made anti-freeze for us.

Set up the Clam Nanook & Tip-ups... caught 1 bass, 15". Caught 1 nice, hog Redear measuring 8 1/2"

The bite was slow, but steady all day long.

Filleted 20 gills, 6 Crappie

Mattie was a trooper and had a ball catching gills.

Great time!  What part of the lake were you on, and what depth were you guys and gals fishing?

Still "Early Season Ice" and the fish are in the shallow waters.  I'd guess they'd start moving & transitioning to deeper waters (Mid-Season Ice) within the next week or so.

We fished the NW corner. in 5-8 fow.
