Thanks guys thats the kind of info I need! It might sound funny to you guys but to a newbie just saying lures does not always cut the mustard at least not for a slow learner like me ;)

One more thing. I see the Vibe and the BFishN blade is there any differance in quality? also Vibe makes a Vibe and a cicada do they both work? or just stick with the Vibe? Whew??? So many questions!!!! ??? ???

I have also read alot about PK lures in ice fishing magazines. They seem to be a very hot lure. Have any of you tried these lures? I have looked at thier site and read about them and people who have them seem to rave about them but who really knows??? They seem to be popular in Canada and the upper midwest were ice fishing is more popular or at least has a longer season?

Just wondering if any of you have any feed back on them? if not check out thier site at PK lures. Might break up the no ice blues. LOL

Great but do these come in different sizes? That was my question? I  have seen Vibe, Pimple, slender spoon,............ all over the place what I need to know is size, weight, the important stuff. LOL Saying Chevy!!!!!!! Ford!!!!!!!! Toyota!!!!!!!!! does not mean much to someone who has never driven one or seen one! LOL I need to know Ford F150 1/2 ton 4x4 8ft bed. LOL Sending me to the Ford lot with no other direction and no sellsman to help does not much good. I could come back with a 1980 escort and I needed a superduty???

Ok this is my first year ice fishing and I need some help. I see lots of post for differnt walleye lures but here is my question. What size and wieght should I use for each specific lure? I need to get some lures and being a newbie I can not afford to spend a ton of $$$. Please give me some specific examples of some go to lures. If you only had two lures to use to fish for walleyes what would they be?

Example: Swedish Pimple Size:??? Wieght: ??? Color: ??? Tiped with: ???

Thank You, Not trying to steal secrets just trying to not spend a million $$$ and hoping to have a chance at catching a fish.

Hi!
My name is Art and this will be my first year ice fishing. I live just over the PA line and I just found this site thanks to "Oldsailor". Anyway I was transfered here from KS and I have never had the chance to ice fish and I have a ton of questions. But here is my first one.

I have done a ton of soft water fishing. I have a lot of tub and other jigs like stingers from southern pro for crappie. Will these work through the ice for crappie or perch? They work in soft water but what about in the winter? I am guessing the smaller 1.5 inch versions? How about walleyes? or small twisters or crappie or perch?

I have seen and read about the special ice plastics and have a few from C&S spins but not many. But a guy can't aford to spend a ton of money to buy all this stuff. At least I can't and still eat. LOL I get my gear by doing odd jobs to earn extra money so the Mrs. and Kids don't go with out. And Momma don't beat me up. LOL

I was just wondering what you guys thought.

« on: December 17, 2012, 04:02:51 PM »
Hi!

My Name is Art I am new to this site and this will be my first yeat ice fishing if we get ice. I live just on the edge of PA about 2 miles from East Liverpool OH. I just moved here from KS so never really had the chance to ice fish before. I am really looking forward to trying it. I love to fish so I know I will love to ice fish! I have worked hard and got a flasher and a hand auger and some jigs and a cheap pole or two.

Now I just need to learn how to catch these buggers through the ice!! LOL So if anyone wants to give a new guys some lessons I am all ears.  ;D

Slabslayer that would be great. Like I said I don't mind driving. I will just  have to do it on an off day. I will check the calender for the 10th. PM me and we can see about getting together.

Hello,

My name is Art and I just moved here from KS. I have never had the chance to ice fish before. I love to fish so I figure hey ice fishing has to be great too!! I worked all summer and saved up to get me a flasher and some beginners jigs and gear.

I would like to meet some guys who would not mind taking a new guy out and at least showing me some of the ropes. I live in Western PA about 2 miles from East Liverpool OH. But am willing to travel to fish when work permitts me too. I mostly just don't want to fall in, drownd, and learn the basics. I don't want to be a nuisance to you just a new friend. Perhaps there is something I could help you out with down the road?? ;)
