Title: fishing in my neck of the woods
Post by: pig puncher on January 02, 2010, 10:47:27 PM
after searching 3 counties for safe ice (for me), found some 1/2 mile from home.after searching 3 counties for minnows, found some 37 miles from home (1 way). got set up in a spot where i've had good luck on early ice before, 21 fow. marked lots of fish, they would chase but wouldn't bite. got 4 almost keeper crappies and 1 almost keeper bluegill. fish were from bottom to 19 fow. maybe tomorrow will be better. was great to be out on the ice!

Sounds like a start. Your in Mt Vernon right?

Hopefully you will meet someone on here near you. When we hit Alum for Crappies you can always join us.
