It could be multi-purpose if you ever decided to go to Green Bay for a football game...  ;D

Is it still goose season?
A shotgun while ice fishing... there's only one story like that I have ever heard and that was my late grandfather who was ice fishing Mosquito and went back to his car to get his shotgun and shot a goose, chased it across the ice and ended up falling through in water, thank God, only up to his waste.  That was years ago though...  he still got that goose!

Woo Hoo!!! I'm excited about this game because it's the last one till next fall but I really hate it doesn't start until 8:30pm.  I have to get up and be at work by 7am so I guess I'll just have to be a little tired tomorrow.

They do have one set at the Bass Pro at IL.
Their hours are only 8-5 though so I'm not sure when I'll get there or if I will just find them online from one of our sponsors.

Thanks guys!

Welcome Bob!

It'll be nice to meet some of the other local guys who fish the same areas I fish as well.  It never hurts to have more contacts of good people in the area.  I live in Delaware and fish Alum most of the time on the soft water.  This is my first season on the ice in Ohio since I was a teenager.  I lived in Maryland and didn't get out on the ice unless I was visiting.

General Discussion / Auger Blades?
« on: January 03, 2011, 02:20:57 PM »
I'm looking for some blades for my 4" mora auger.
At this point it's easier drilling with my 8" auger than the 4" because the blades are so bad.  Any ideas besides buying online?

I'm located north of Columbus in Delaware.
Thanks!

Delaware Reservoir / Re: Deleware res ice fishing?

I really haven't fished it much either and never through the ice but that may change this season if we get good ice back.  I live up in Delaware so between Delaware and Alum I have a couple of decent impoundments to fish if we can get good ice again.

Very cool about the niece getting the best of her Uncle.
BTW, fishslim is a master on the softwater for saugeye...  If you ever get a chance to meet him try and get some tips.

David - Are we partnering up for this event?  I don't have anyone to head out with but now have some electronics and a couple of hand augers (4" and 8") although my 4" has pretty dull blades I need to find replacements for.

If anyone wants a partner I'm up for it.

General Discussion / Holiday fun!

Well I didn't get a chance to ice fish any Ohio waters between Christmas and New Years but I did go to Indiana and catch a few bluegill and eater size walleye with my brother in Warsaw, Indiana.

I had my 6yr old son from Maryland who I had to drive to and from so that took up some of my time BUT I did stop at Cabela's yesterday and hit the Bargin Cave and finally got a piece of electronics to add to my ice arsenal.  I bought a ICE 35 by Humminbird.  I don't know a lot about it but it was only 200.00!  I had the clerk take it out of the box so I could look it over.  It looked like it had just been opened and everything looked good.  They have an in store 30 day guaranty so that plus the 2yr warranty from them so I feel pretty good about it.  Now all we need is safe ice!  Oh I also bought 4 more HT tipups as well so I am pretty much set when we get some good ice back from the thaw.

GAME ON!!!

I'm going to be heading out tomorrow and would like to have some company.
I think I am going to try Alum in some of the coves but if that doesn't look promising I will head east to Buckeye.

Give me a shout if your going to be out.  614-623-9088

I'm looking to get out, somewhere...
I live in Delaware and was thinking about some of the spots I know are safe at Alum.  I could fish Indian though but don't have electronics so I would be following and fishing blind which I prefer not to do since I haven't been on the ice there.

Shoot me a PM and if I haven't firmed up plans I may make the trip over to fish with ya.
