Did a quick buzz by Wellington today. Did not even get out of the car. Still plenty of wide open water and not close to being ready. Be safe when you do get out.

Guys just happened to click the clam banner up top on ifo. Clam had a banner remembering Jim Hudson who was a pro staffer for clam. Come to find out that he died on Superior when his snowmobile went through the ice. Just was reading an ice team article by him. Very sad. Only 34. Believe it happened around the 26th of January. Cant post the link from my phone.

Well after a weekend of much needed R and R and zero ice fishing, ice is offically unsafe in Ohio. What a season, Again!! Anyways, what's everyone take on ice in the surrounding states within a 6 to 8 hour drive of Cleveland?? Got out for a few hours at the first ice and that is it. Anyone have a report on where there maybe some good ice, at least 6 plus?? racking my brain, I could not come up with much so I turn to IFO for some input.

IFO, Usually I do an Ice Fishing demonstration for the Lorain County Metroparks each year as part of their winterfest event at the Vermilion River Reservation. I committed to this back in November but with just a few days before the event, I have an 11 month old with the flu and an exhausted wife. This weekend I am really needed to be around the house to get things back in order. I was wondering if there is anyone on here who would step up and help me out to do the ice fishing demo from 10a-4p for me? This would be greatly appreciated and you would be allowed to fish on the lake at the reservation there for bass, gills etc. and would be promoting the sport of ice fishing in an attempt to get more people outside during the cold Cleveland Winters. I can fill you in with a little more detail. I know it is short notice but it would help me out alot. It is a fun event and there will be many other things going on through out the day to do as well. Thanks in advance. Dave

Guys, Just wanted to give a little props to Clam Corp. I received a Clam Expedition as a gift last christmas. Used it several times over the course of last season. After about the third time out I noticed tears in the fabric around the hubs. I contacted them and they requested I take pictures of the damage. I did and they told me to fish with the shanty the rest of the season and deal with it over the summer months. During the summer, I contacted them and they had me cut and photo the logos out of the shanty. Upon sending them the photos, I had a response the same day. They sent me out a new Clam Base Camp shanty to replace the expedition, since it was no longer being produced. (After using it last year, I could see why) The customer service department was quick and efficient in the handling of my claim and the best part is that they stood behind their product as you would hope a good company would! I know we have choices when it comes to spending our money. It is good to know when one of our sponsors has an issue with their product, they stand behind it. Thanks Clam Corp!!

Have seen the mag shield but have never seen it in use. Does anyone on here use one?? Can they recommend it or not. I have no issue viewing the screen and can see it fine. However, was thinking that if it changed the viewable angle, meaning I could place the vex in the center of two fishermen in the shanty and it is easlier to view by both by each angler, than I may consider one. Other than that I really would not need one. Any input would be appreciated. ER
