Ha I'm in Akron too... But my friend went out on it on Saturday. The edges were already getting bad then and he reported hardly anyone out. Had 4-5 in. then, but I'm sure that was quite degraded over the last 84 hours before it fell below freezing again. He got 1 short eye and a crappie for his efforts.
My best guess is that if it were still fishable, someone would have posted a condition report. There is a strong group of members down that way and they are probably all checking the site just like we are up here, waiting to be the second one on the ice.
