Lucky enough to be able to purchase one of the two. I have a Zercom colorpoint flasher that's about 10yrs old but works fine, and drilling holes is kickin my a$$. Gettin old... Anyone have either? Thoughts on which one?

I know we can't fish it but I drove past Rockwell today and the ice is looking much better. The rain and wind got rid of a lot of the snow and the ice don't look as funky as it has been. Should be a sign of good ice to come locally.

Well after a lot of research and reflecting, going with a Shappell DX4000. A huge upgrade from my older Viking. Hopefully it will be here by Friday. Anyone else have one or any opinions?

3-4". Most snow has blown off. 1" frozen slush, 2-3" clear. Seems ok but want to fish it alone, headin to Nimi.

Fished the docks for an hr or so, tried maybe 5 different spots. Marked em but no takers. Ice is not even close to being safe.

-12 low Monday! Yes negative. -3 for a high with -4 low on Tues! Is a blizzard coming next week or what? You guys with the power augers may have to bust em out.

Starting Sunday, overnight lows in the teens until the following Sunday! I still say by the 5th, maybe sooner. Good base started at Nimi. Fingers crossed!
