October is The Heart of the fall season. Temperatures continue to
cool down through the month with a few milder days especially early
on. Precipitation is usually associated with frontal passes with an
occasional strong front producing strong or possibly severe storms
with the change of air masses. Snowfall is rather rare but can occur
by the later part of the month.

At Columbus...the normal high temperature starts out in the lower
70s(71 degrees) and cools into the lower 60s(60 degrees) by the end
of the month. Normal low temperatures start out around 50 degrees
and cool into the lower 40s(41 degrees) by month's end.
Normal precipitation is 2.61 inches with an average snowfall of 0.2
inches.

At Cincinnati...the normal high temperature starts out in the
lower 70s(72 degrees) and cools into the lower 60s(61 degrees)
by the end of the month. Normal low temperatures begin in the
lower 50s(51 degrees) and cool into the lower 40s(41 degrees) by
month's end. Normal precipitation is 3.30 inches with an average
snowfall of 0.4 inches.

At Dayton...the high temperature normally starts out around 70
degrees and cools into the upper 50s(58 degrees) by the end of the
month. Normal lows begin in the upper 40s(49 degrees) and cools to
around 40 degrees by month's end. Normal precipitation is
2.93 inches with an average snowfall of 0.4 inches.

What is the forecast for October 2013?  The climate
prediction center expects temperatures to be slightly above normal
and precipitation to be near normal.
