I heard a guy went through up there today. Glad I listened to more experienced ice fishermen and stayed home.

Well thanks for raining on my parade. Lol. I've already taken 2 "last trips" but I heard guys were still fishing up there and wondered if anyone on here had been out. It kills me to know guys are catching fish and I'm at home letting the wife put me to work. my first ice fishing season has been a blast, it's a shame to see it end.

Yep. Think I'm done... Fished all weekend, then snuck out at noon yesterday and made it to indian by 230 ( after a 55 in a 35 speeding ticket :'( ) caught 9 keeper crappie including a 13.5 inch white and probably 25 big gills. Nice way to end my first ice season. Can't believe I waited this long to try it.thanks to all the help from ifo site and members. Now time to get my honey do list done and wait for open water. Be safe if you're still fishing

Go to the main channel into the reserve in front of achesons. Tons of gills and some nice crappie and perch. They're loaded in there but you gotta sort through a lot of small ones. Gl. Gonna try to ditch work tue for just one more last trip.lol

Yeah nf was pretty much a bust for me. Fished there all morning. Got one 17 in. Saugeye and lost one crappie at the hole. Moved around after lunch to some new areas and found some... probably 25-30 keeper crappie and gills, one throwback eye, one nice lm and a ton of small gills. Ended up getting em on really small heads 1/64 -1/100 Oz tipped with small plastics and spikes. Chart., red, pink,  and orange. They hit em all. Goin back tomorrow.

Was at cj tonight. Fished the marina area. Think I was the only soul on the lake, except one guy by the docks cutting holes with a chain saw,  said it was his first time ever ice fishing.he doesn't know what he's getting into.lol. had several marks and only one bite. Think it was about a 2 inch gill chewing on my minnow on my deadstick rod. Ice was making crazy noises. Freaky when you're out there alone :o

Well i don't know about you guys, but as much as i love to fish, not catching em makes me nuts, especially now that i have a lowrance and can't just blame it on no fish being around.lol. i plan on returning to hero status this weekend... i can just feel the fish ready to bite... look for me on the ice. I'll be the guy with a bucket full of 12 inch crappie ...I've been looking in the mirror telling myself I'm still a great fisherman. Positive reinforcement you know. It's bound to work...

Nice job megan. I usually fish north fork but decided to do some exploring last night. Found some fish but could not get em to eat. They would come up on my bait every time then swim away :(Caught one big gill and missed a couple other bites.Sounds like some other people were getting em tho.

There ya go!!! This is my first year of marriage and my first year ice fishing so I need this kind of info. Anybody can catch fish. The real trick is getting to go whenever you want. ;D Here's my tip. Let your wife host a big fish fry every year and invite everyone she knows. That way all your free time can be spent " getting enough fish for all her friends" think I feel the need for a workout... gotta go put the sled in the truck
