Thanks for the info Slayer. Have made my own over the years and have always heard the Hali chains break easy so thought I woud get some information from someone that used them often. Run mine under a kastmaster.

Gotta side with snocone Gota 20 yr old daughter that will bear the elements. But she is from central Ohio. In her first yr at Oregon. And I have 5 boys that do fine in the ice also. Things are so much nicer now with quick pop up shantys, heaters, ice suits. If a person plans accordingly it can be a fun trip.
