Just a heads up. If you use the type of spikes that push into each other.
Take them apart and make sure to put a drop of oil to keep them from rusting and becoming difficult to pull apart. I had a pair I had to work to get apart. Could have been a disaster if I had really needed them.

I have one last ice trip planned for this next weekend, its a 6 hr drive to the Chippawa flowage. All of the ice around me  is now honeycombed and unsafe. I will soon be putting away the ice gear and prep the boat. I am hoping to come down to Ohio this spring to visit my daughter and see her new house in Parma (sub of Cleveland). If any of ya fish close maybe we can wet a line.

I added a Strikerlite floating bibs and jacket to the ever growing ice gear.
Nice and warm not bulky and can save yer hide. Built in pockets for picks and gear.

Since Ice picks are mentioned, particularly the stick into each other orange ones I pass this on.. I had a pair of those, didnt use um a couple of years... it took a few squirts of WD40 and a screwdriver to pry um apart. Glad I found that while I was on top. Check um and grease um! Or buy the spring retractable ones. (Idid). Stay on top.

Nice to meetcha all.
Because I never got into ice fishing when I lived in Ohio Im wondering how popular it is now? On a weekend just how many people would be fishing like LaDue or west branch or Wallace Lakes? Those were some of the inland lakes I fished in Greater Cleveland area.  I know some of the lakes around here can look like a Walmart parking lot on Xmas eve.

I have a 6x12 clam dbl hub and use those mats too. They work great I have a custom set I use for overnighters on the ice.

From old school browns fan (before the Baltimore sellout) to a born again cheesehead. Yup fishing here is good but I miss the eye factory sometimes. I remember when the hot new bait was an Erie Dearie.  ;D
Looking forward to talking ice fitchin and maybe plan a ice trip as I have never ice fished Erie.
