Nice work! Had I not had the little guy with me I would have stayed out longer than I did. We just got back to the car at dusk.

Yep, nightly news just said rain Monday into Tuesday night which stinks! Not sure how much there will be but rain is no bueno. Also a warm up starting next Friday through Wednesday of the following week supposedly.
Smh, and the wife wonders why I want to fish so much when we actually don't have anything planned...

Nice PB Scott. Always fun to get big fish through the ice.

Went out of Fairfield with the rest of Columbus it seemed this afternoon. Had my 3yr old with me and we headed out with the shanty, little buddy heater, some snacks and our gear. Drilled 3 holes, had minnows/jig and minnow on in 2 and jig and spike in the other. Caught a few crappie with the biggest 12.5", a few gills with the biggest was right at 9", a wiper, and one keeper saugeye late. Lots of fun but my little guy tried my patience some and we lost a few because dad was trying to let him set the hook and reel them in. He did catch the big gill though which was pretty cool.
I wish I lived closer to Buckeye!

I fished Delaware Friday eve for about an hour and a half. Was my maiden voyage and didn't bring my shanty, only my spud bar and sled. Hit a small cove and to my surprise there was a shanty sitting where I had planned on going. Still went out spudding along the way with good ice 5" or so where I drilled. Caught a few small crappie and a small gill. Nothing impressive by any means.

Coldwater is just over the Indiana / Michigan state line off of I-69. Pretty easy drive really. I've been through there but never fished the lakes. About 3+ hrs from Delaware.

I'm not trying to be a pain but good is relevant. All the central Ohio lakes can be good but not all have good ice, access, or are tougher to fish than some of the others. Buckeye and Indian, in my opinion are the 2 easiest to fish because of the lack of depth. They are both pretty big which makes them tougher in that sense. Alum, Delaware, and Hoover have great fishing but access can be tough and they are deeper. They can all have their hot and not so hot days.
Good luck and stay safe. Just my .02

I've been debating getting a conversion kit for my Nils. Does your drill battery run out quick?
Thanks and great report

Nope wasn't you slab. It kind of hurt my feelings a little at the time but as busy as I am I don't have time to worry about someone not wanting to fish with me. I'll just head out where others are and spud around to make sure I'm safe and catch fish anyhow.
Good luck this year guys! Stay dry!

I may be. I'm not sure of my schedule quite yet but don't know of anything going on either. I'll shoot you a PM with my number if you want to chat.
