We still have a lot of cold weather ahead of us!

Amen to that!   I bet we get atleast a week or two of safe ice,  well I can only hope so.

Dave,  how far of a ride is it from Hoover?

I fished it 3 years ago on Wamplers when it was a event of the N.A.I.C and it was televised.

It was a fun tournament and even if you finished 100th you had a chance to win some great prizes.

What lake is it on?

It is going be at Devils Lake in MI.

Has anyone fished the midwest ice tournament before?   I have been invited to fish it this year and was wondering if anyone else is fishing it or has in the past.   If must be a fun event because I was told it sold out in 17 mins with 300 people fishing the tournament.  I just hope MI gets safe ice so I can fish this tourny,  it has already be moved once or twice already due to unsafe ice.  This is over a $20,000 payout tourny.  I will be happy to just walk away with  $5,000    ;D

Ice Gear for Sale / Yo-Zuri icefishing jigs
« on: December 30, 2011, 05:41:46 PM »
I got some yo-zuri casting jigs that are often used as ice-fishing lures.   I got about 7 of them,  3 differemt colors and 3 different sizes.   If anyone is interested I will let you know what the colors and sizes are.   I am looking to get $30  for them.  I paid $38  for them, never used them still in the boxes.

Thanks

For perch in Ohio your best bet would probably be Lake Erie...

Soft Water Fishing Reports / Re: 6lb Smallie
« on: December 19, 2011, 10:14:11 AM »
riverrunt - not to say it didn't happen but I would have to see it to believe it.  Smallmouth over 6lbs aren't common at all on non-Erie waters let alone up on the big lake.  Are there probably smallies that big?  I guess there could be but with the way the water levels change at Alum I have a hard time seeing anything over 6 coming from there.  Just my opinion...

Go to the bass tourny weigh-ins next year,   I seen alot of 4-5 pound smallies come to the scales.   Once in awhile a 6 pounder comes in.   Smallies are the ones that win alum creek bass tournies most of the time!

I sure hope the ice comes soon because I have alot free time and all I seem to be doing recently is buying more and more icefishing lures/supplies...  I can not wait for safe ice!
